Pillow Mask

Pillow Mask or Nasal Pillow Mask is for people suffering from sleep apnea. This is when the diseased person has interrupted breathing while sleeping. The upper neck airway does not allow air to pass through resulting in no breathing at all for 10 seconds or more. This might occur several times. There is no cure for sleep apnea as such and if the sufferer constantly goes through this disease unattended it may worsen situations with sexual problems, heart attacks and strokes. The CPAP or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure is by far the only effective treatment. The pillow mask is also better known as CPAP mask.

The CPAP mask or Pillow Mask covers the face of the patient on his nose and mouth. The basic idea is to blow air into the nose or mouth of the sufferer. There are quite a few kinds of options to choose from today. As per person's comfort, you can buy the ones which cover both nose and mouth called as full face masks. Go for those which only cover mouth if the above one is a little irritating, its called oral mask. Lastly you have nasal masks which are most popular and they fit into the nose. The tube flushes in the room air and not oxygen into the mouth or nose. Take into account whether the patient sleeps on his back or side because there're different types for different people and if its not the perfect fit for them it'll cause them problem sleeping or the whole mask may just fall apart. The setting is different in different masks and the nasal pillow should not go loose during any turns. CPAP pillow is also an addition to this. The regular pillows might not be too comfortable with the treatment which is why these pillows are made to aid.

The Pillow Mask may look strange and complicated but it's not that painful. It must be made sure the mask has been set and worn perfectly. The setting matters a lot for comfort as well as the treatment. It must be worn so that it helps and not makes the situations worse. It does well to the wearer once the user gets the hang of it. Moreover, it's the only solution to the respiratory disorder. Use only branded masks. Consult your doctor for what's best for you. Also make sure you buy the one that serves for your disease.
